A free brainstorming service for fiction writers

Who's it for?Frustrated

First see if any of the below statements ring a bell.

  • I'm stuck;  I can’t figure out what should happen next.
  • I've tried using various prompts, but they have gotten me nowhere or don’t quite make sense for my story.
  • I've tried ‘writing through’ my writer’s block, but all it's resulted in is frustration.
  • My characters seem flat; I don't seem to be able to relate to him/her/it.

If you can identify with any of the above, I'd like to try and help you with your fiction story.

What is the service?

Firstly I want to tell you what I’m not and that’s a writing coach, a reader or an editor.  My focus is purely on the content, not the process.  So I’m not going to be sending you motivational emails or SMS’s or calling you to see how many words you’ve written each day.  But what I would like to help you with is offering my brainstorming support to help you develop your story idea further.

If you’re a writer, you know that sometimes your creative muscles can get tired or blocked.  My goal is to provide you with tailored questions and some plot suggestions to help you get into the flow again.  It doesn't even matter whether you agree with me or not;  you could even end up going in an entirely different direction altogether.  The point is to help you moved forward with your writing.

Why do I do this for free?

Because I love it!  It also helps me help me develop my own writing skills.  So I like to consider it a win-win, if you will.

And if you're concerned about having your ideas stolen, then I can assure that that's not going to happen.  I have my own pile of ideas jotted down on papers or floating in my brain.  Plus, I have a growing library of stories I've begun and have yet to finish.  I can barely keep up!

Besides, an idea is not a story.  Only you can make it into one.  It's a lot of hard work taking and idea and transforming it into a story that is compelling, tight and a good read.
